Meter Pitching Still Holds Up in MLB The Show 25

I know everyone hypes up Pinpoint these daysBuy mlb 25 stubs, but for my money, Meter pitching is still king—especially if you're not trying to sweat every pitch.

It’s reliable, clean, and doesn’t require memorizing motion patterns. Just watch the bar, time it right, and boom—good pitch. It’s great for Franchise players who don’t want to risk hanging meatballs just because they missed one input.

Plus, if you’ve been playing The Show for years, you’re probably already wired to time meter mechanics. It has that old-school MLB 2K vibe, and it still gets the job done, especially offline.

Where it does struggle is against elite hitters online. A slight timing miss can turn into a perfect shot to the bleachers. But if you know your pitcher’s strengths, and you use pitch sequencing smartly, you can stay competitive without the stress of Pinpoint.

For anyone overwhelmed by the more complex pitching options, give Meter another shot. Sometimes simple really is better.
