The story

The story is set in the heartland of Uttar Pradesh, where two politicians Dubey (Anil George) and Jiji (Divya Dutta) are vying for power. They hire Babu Bihari (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), a ruthless contract killer who kills for a paltry sum of 20,000 per hit. Babu is known for his clean and efficient hits without any fuss. He lives a simple life in a shanty in a remote location. One day, Jiji assigns him to kill three brothers who are her rivals. Babu goes to survey his target and meets Fulwa (Bidita Bag), a cobbler who catches his eye. He tries to woo her but she rejects him. He kills one of the brothers but Fulwa witnesses it. She does not identify him to the police but stabs him when he barges into her home. Babu tells her that he came because he was curious about her silence.
