This timer is a digital plug-in device that can be programmed to turn on and off up to six times per day, with different settings for weekdays and weekends. You can also use it as a manual override switch or a random mode for added security. In this article, we will show you how to set up and use your Brinks Type 44-1011 Timer with ease.

How to Set Up and Use Your Brinks Type 44-1011 Timer

What You Need

Before you start, make sure you have the following items:

  • A device that you want to control with the timer (such as a lamp, a fan, a coffee maker, etc.)

  • An electrical outlet that is within reach of the timer and the device

  • A copy of the Brinks Type 44-1011 Manual (you can download it from here or refer to the printed version that came with your timer)

How to Set Up Your Timer

Follow these steps to set up your timer:

  • Plug your timer into an electrical outlet and press the reset button on the back of the unit with a pointed object (such as a pen or a paper clip). This will clear any previous settings and initialize the timer.

  • Press the clock button and use the hour and minute buttons to set the current time. Make sure you select AM or PM correctly. Press the clock button again to confirm.

  • Press the prog button and use the hour and minute buttons to set the first on time. Press the day button to select the days of the week for this on time. You can choose individual days (such as Monday or Tuesday) or groups of days (such as weekdays or weekends). Press the prog button again to confirm.

  • Press the prog button and use the hour and minute buttons to set the first off time. Press the day button to select the days of the week for this off time. Press the prog button again to confirm.

  • Repeat steps 3 and 4 to set up to five more on/off times as needed. You can skip any unused programs by pressing the prog button until you reach the desired program number.

  • Press the clock button to exit the programming mode. Your timer is now ready to use.

How to Use Your Timer

Follow these steps to use your timer:

  • Plug your device into the timer and turn it on.

  • Select one of the three modes on your timer by pressing the mode button:

  • Auto: This mode will follow your programmed on/off times.

  • On: This mode will turn your device on and keep it on until you change the mode.

  • Rnd: This mode will turn your device on and off at random intervals between 6:30 PM and 5:30 AM. This is useful for deterring burglars when you are away from home.

  • To override your current mode, press the manual button. This will toggle your device on or off regardless of your programmed settings. To resume your current mode, press the manual button again.

  • To check your current time or program settings, press the clock or prog buttons respectively. To change them, follow the steps in the previous section.
